About Alicia

Alicia concentrates her practice on family law issues involving divorce, custody, separation, and parenting time. Alicia has gained experience and knowledge at every stage of her legal career. She balances her skills, compassion, and knowledge of the law to effectively educate and advocate for her clients. From volunteering at various pro bono legal clinics to advocating for her clients in the courtroom, Alicia Storm has the breadth to represent West Michigan families competently and compassionately.

Alicia K. Storm began her legal career by attending the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she distinguished herself from her peers as an articulate litigator and skilled mediator.

After law school, she worked with three former-U.S. Attorneys in Grand Rapids, Michigan on matters which ranged from contract formation and trademark application to grand jury investigation and defense of an individual on a cold-case murder trial. It was there that she gained knowledge and understanding of how to effectively manage a case start to finish, as well as work on high-profile and high-stress cases.

Following that, Alicia joined a firm for several years which specialized in family law, insurance claims, and real estate transactions. Family law quickly became the focus of Alicia’s legal practice. Then, in 2016, she made the move south to join another attorney in Kalamazoo at her family law practice specializing in custody disputes, divorce, and adoptions. At that time, Alicia also began working as a court-appointed advocate on juvenile cases involving delinquency and neglect and abuse.

Additionally, Alicia is passionate about pro bono volunteering. She volunteered over 750 hours (over 18 months) at the Ottawa County Legal Self-Help Center and currently volunteers with the Kalamazoo County Family Law Clinic. She also volunteers yearly for the Michigan High School Mock Trial hosted by the Michigan Center for Civic Education.

Alicia Storm has built her experience and sharpened her skills at each stage of her legal career. She is respected by her colleagues and was recently elected by them to be Vice-Chairperson of the Kalamazoo Family Law Bar Association. She is recognized not only as a candid and passionate advocate for her clients but also as a compassionate and prudent counselor of the law. She is fully equipped to handle the complex issues of custody, parenting time, child support, divorce, and paternity, regardless of how contentious the matter may be.
