Allen J. Peterson | Brainerd Criminal Defense Lawyer

Minnesota Native Allen J. Peterson is a 2017 graduate of the University of St. Thomas – School of Law. Allen was born September 24, 1991 in Dakota County. He specialized in criminal law and chose to diversify himself early on in his career. He’s lived all over the state in recent years and has experience as a prosecutor in Itasca County, the corporate world of Minneapolis, private practice in Goodhue County, as well as serving in the role of City Attorney in Winona County. He enjoys serving the client and helping people problem solve with real-world solutions.

Allen started off in criminal law and has since expanded into family law, including custody and divorce/marriage dissolution, wills and power of attorney, and civil litigation.
 
Allen is an avid outdoorsman and prefers northern, small-town living and a close sense of community. In his free time, he enjoys lake days at the cabin, rock climbing, and mechanics. Allen joined the Ed Shaw Law Office in 2020.
