Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
[Amanda A. Farahany] We tried a case to verdict last year in which a client's employer falsely reported to a newspaper that the client was demoted for poor performance. The jury found in favor of our client, clearing his name after many years, and awarding him $1.5 million for the harm to his reputation.
How did you build a successful practice?
[Amanda A. Farahany] We ensure that every person who has an employment problem has an opportunity to speak directly with an attorney, at no charge, and that they receive legal advice about their situation. In addition, we believe that every person has the right to go to trial in their case, and we fight for our clients' ability to do so on multiple fronts.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
[Amanda A. Farahany] A track record of good results. Responsiveness to the client.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
[Amanda A. Farahany] When the federal court knows the lawyers on the case, the client is more likely to get a better result.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
[Amanda A. Farahany] Regardless of whether we are able to take a case, we spend up to 20 minutes with each prospective client during which we identify the legal issues involved in their case and explain their rights and remedies.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
[Amanda A. Farahany] After we gather some initial background information, we will ask you to describe the issue you're having at work, including any documentation you may have and any witnesses you know of who might be helpful.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
[Amanda A. Farahany] We are the largest law firm of lawyers dedicated solely to protecting the rights of employees in Georgia. Despite that, we provide a very personal approach to each person. A team of lawyers and staff work with the client on every case to ensure that the client's rights are fully protected, and we make it a priority to keep the client informed and involved.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
[Amanda A. Farahany] Being able to help a client get back on their feet after they have lost their job and their ability to care for themselves and their family, as well as holding corporations and individuals accountable for improper behavior.
Are you involved in your community?
[Amanda A. Farahany] Yes, and I also do work in Haiti, bringing running water to communities there by installing wells throughout the country in areas with the greatest need. I've also had a community center built for the village of Vialet - the center is named "Justice at Work" and was achieved with the help of many donations in the Atlanta area, including those of several local attorneys.
