About Amy
After graduating from USC with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education in 1984, Amy taught fifth grade at Starr Elementary School in Anderson County for three years. While teaching school she completed her Master of Education Degree in 1987.
Amy graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in December, 1990, and after passing the bar examination joined her father, C. Thomas Cofield, III, in practice in Anderson, South Carolina at the Cofield Law Firm. She continued in practice with her father until he passed away in 1994. She continued to operate her law firm as a solo practitioner until she moved to Lexington, South Carolina. In 2002, she joined her brother, Thomas C. Cofield, and reformed Cofield Law Firm.
Amy is married to Jimmy Terrapin of Lexington, South Carolina. She has two children, Kessler and Tommy, and three step sons, Coleman, Brett and Aaron Terrapin. In her “free time” she enjoys golf, Gamecock sports and mostly, cheering at her boys’ sporting events.
