About Angela
Angie has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation and appellate matters in both state and federal courts. Her practice includes representing financial institutions on matters involving the Uniform Commercial Code, financial instruments, security agreements and other contracts, disputes involving commercial torts, and intellectual property rights, among others.
Angie earned her Juris Doctor in 1994 from the University of Miami Law School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was selected to the Dean's List and participated in the Honors program.
Angie is active in civic and other organizations in her community. In 2006 and 2008, she served as a Lead County Counsel in Miami-Dade County for the Florida Democratic Lawyers Council, a group dedicated to voters' rights and protection. In that capacity, she led a team to recruit, train, and assign over 500 volunteer lawyers in Miami-Dade County to serve as poll watchers for the 2008 General Election and served as the key liaison with County officials on a number of voting issues. She has served as a Board Member for the Greater Miami Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union for many years and is a Senior Writer for its newsletter, The Flame. She has also served as a mentor to disadvantaged youth in the Miami community.
