About Barton
Mr. Bart Saettele is unique among the lawyers in the Firm. Not only is he licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri, but he is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (he achieved the prestigious accomplishment of passing all four parts of the difficult CPA exam on his initial sitting).
Mr. Saettele's primary areas of practice are estate planning, tax planning, probate and trust administration. Mr. Saettele also practices in the corporate and business and the non-profit law areas.
Prior to joining Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal, Mr. Saettele worked for over five years in the St. Louis tax departments of two "Big Five" public accounting Firms.
Mr. Saettele's extensive financial knowledge helps him provide high quality legal services in all of his areas of practice. For example, Mr. Saettele's financial knowledge is particularly beneficial in estate and trust matters involving tax issues, retirement accounts, and interests in small businesses. It is also beneficial in assisting our Family Law department with tax and financial matters that arise in divorce situations, including preparing and analyzing net cash flow illustrations that give the court a clear idea of how much "after-tax" income each party will be receiving.
Mr. Saettele skillfully drafts estate planning documents and advises clients regarding the titling of their assets in order to make their estate plan most effective. Mr. Saettele is also knowledgeable about many estate planning techniques, such as annual exclusion gifting, more sophisticated gifting involving business interests, and the creation of irrevocable trusts. Mr. Saettele can also provide competent advice on the administering of trusts and probate proceedings after a death.
Mr. Saettele also has substantial experience preparing estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and trust income tax returns.
Mr. Saettele was born and raised in St. Charles County, Missouri, and has been actively involved in launching the Firm's St. Charles office.
Mr. Saettele received his law degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1999. He graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1996 with a B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Marketing.
Mr. Saettele currently serves on the financial advisory committee for Caring for Kids, a non-profit organization that provides for the urgent needs of children involved in the court system.
