Bill O'Brien, Attorney

M. William O'Brien is a founding partner of his law firm,Miller-O'Brien, P.L.L.P. For more than 20 years he has practiced exclusively inthe civil rights, employee rights and labor law areas. Bill's work includes bothstate and federal court trial work as well as arbitrations and mediations. Healso provides frequent non-litigation counseling, including strategic advice andnegotiation concerning employment contracts and separation and non-competeagreements. In the litigation area Bill and his firm are responsible forachieving landmark results, including the largest pre-suit settlement of agender class action in the country. Under Minnesota law, Bill secured the firstplaintiff's verdict in a whistleblower trial. Bill received his J.D. fromNorthwestern University Law School and a B.A. from Colgate University. He is aformer Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the Minnesota State BarAssociation and President of the National Employment Lawyer's Association,Minnesota Chapter. He has completed the state certified mediation training.
