About Bradley

Bradley A. Forrest is a registered patent attorney and shareholder of Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner.  His practice is focused on patent prosecution for complex technologies, IP counseling and IP strategy formation, and opinion work and licensing.  Brad received his B.S.E.E. in 1978 from the University of Minnesota, and his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School (J.D., 1981).  During engineering and law school, Brad worked part-time for Honeywell International, Inc. designing computer simulations.  From 1984-1993, Brad was with IBM in Rochester, Minnesota, as Counsel and Manager of the Intellectual Property Law Department where he identified several key inventions and wrote many patents that have been key to licensing efforts, including the RAID V patent, and the basic patents covering server driven work processing, known as IPC.  From 1994-1995 Brad was a Division Counsel and the Copyright and Trademark Counsel for IBM worldwide in New York.  Brad is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and has served on its Board of Governors.  He was President (2001-2002) of the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association and Committee Chair of the Emerging Technologies Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is currently Vice Chair of the AIPLA Electronics and Computer Law Committee, and is an active speaker and publisher on all areas of intellectual property protection.  Brad is admitted to practice in Minnesota.
