About Brian
Brian S. Ahearn concentrates his practice in the area of labor and employment law. Prior to entering private practice, he taught at New York University Law School and then served as an attorney and supervisory attorney for the National Labor Relations Board and an administrative law judge for the Michigan Employment Relations Commission.
For the past thirty-five years, Mr. Ahearn has represented both public and private employers in all phases of labor and employment law including collective bargaining negotiations, rights and interest arbitrations, proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Michigan Employment Relations Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and other State and Federal administrative agencies and trial and appellate litigation in State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Ahearn was the Editor in Chief of the University of Detroit Law Journal. He has since co-authored the Michigan Public Employment and Labor Relations Law (1987 and 1994 Editions). He lectures at universities and before business and before professional groups including the Annual Labor Law Seminar of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Labor Relations Section), American Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section), Michigan Public Employer Labor Relations Association and Michigan Municipal League.
