My clients, the Buyers, purchased their dream home. The Sellers provided a Disclosure Statement stating that there had been no plumbing issues with the home. After purchasing the property, the Buyers started experiencing sewer backup in their toilets and grey water backup in their shower and sink drains. We sued the Sellers under the Oklahoma Residential Property Disclosure Act. The Sellers agreed to reimburse the Buyers for all out of pocket expenses they had incurred, agreed to pay the cost to repair the plumbing issues and reimbursed the Buyers for a majority of their attorneys' fees and costs.

It started with having the right team working with me to insure that each client was provided the best legal service available. Very detail oriented. Open and honest communication with each client sometimes telling the client what they don't want to hear, but what they need to hear. Making sure that each client is provided the legal representation that I would want for myself or my family or friends. Always taking the extra step to make sure that our team is more prepared than the other side.

The matters that I handle are typically complex requiring the client to provide substantial information and documents prior to a determination being made as to the legal options available. With that said, we can typically determine by a telephone call whether the client has a potential claim and, if so, we are willing to obtain additional information and documents to review prior to scheduling an in person meeting.

Who, what, when, where and why. We need to know the parties involved for conflict purposes and from there general background information to obtain and understanding of what, when, where and why it occurred.

In the past, I have been involved in many community non-profits (Operation Aware of Oklahoma, Adoption Affiliates, Inc.) and other organizations. However, as a result of my current work load I have take a step back from the community volunteer organizations. In the future, I hope to re-engage in 1 or 2 community organizations.
