About Jeffrey

Jeff graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1972, prior to which he received a B.S. Degree from Pratt Institute. He is admitted to the practice of law in both New York and Texas. While attending law school he was a mathematics teacher and department chairperson in a Brooklyn middle school. Upon his admission to practice law in New York he became an associate in a New York City law firm. While at that firm he served as Assistant Counsel for the New York State Joint Legislative Committee for the Recodification of the Election Law.

Mr. Brody then was chosen to be the Confidential Law Clerk for Supreme Justice Arthur Blyn in New York City. In that capacity he drafted judicial decisions for the Court, held conferences with attorneys on behalf of the Court and managed the judge's calendar of cases.

In 1977, when Jeff relocated to upstate New York he became associated with a prominent personal injury defense firm in Orange County. This gave him the opportunity to learn how personal injury defense lawyers work to defeat a person's injury claim.

Jeff quickly realized that he was much more suited to helping the injured then defending the pockets of the insurance companies.

In 1981 he joined with Alan Zwiebel to form the personal injury law firm, Zwiebel and Brody. The firm grew to include four partners. It disbanded in 2007 when Jeff began his own firm Jeff Brody & Associates, in which he continues his dedication to helping injured people and their families. The firm concentrates on serious personal injury and medical malpractice cases.

Jeff has worked hard to hone his skills both, at achieving appropriate settlements for his clients, and when necessary, successfully taking the case to trial.

In doing so he has been able to win million dollar verdicts for his clients and has obtained million dollar settlements. He is particularly proud of his million dollar plus verdict against a hospital in Kingston, NY, which had caused the death of a developmentally disabled man when it failed to properly read and report the results of an x-ray (Cramer v. Kingston Hospital).
