Bruce A. Nelson
Bruce A. Nelson has served the Winona community as the Assistant City Attorney for the past 11 years. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Animal Science from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul in 1985, and his Juris Doctor from Hamline University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in 1988. From 1988-1989, Bruce served as a law clerk for the Third Judicial District in the Freeborn County District Court. He is currently admitted to practice in the State of Minnesota and the federal district court for the State of Minnesota. Bruce is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, including the Bankruptcy and Employment Law sections. Additionally, he holds membership in the Third Judicial District Bar Association, the Winona County Bar Association, and the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce. Bruce is also a member of the adjunct faculty of the Winona State University Paralegal Program.
Bruce is married to Shellie Nelson, who is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at Winona State University.
