In addition to being the Managing Partner of Verhaeghe Law Office, Richard has been practicing since 1998 mainly in the areas of Real Estate, Corporate Commercial Matters, including Corporate Incorporations, Rollovers & Re-Organizations, Unanimous Shareholders Agreements, Joint Venture Structuring, and Condominium Corporation Organization. In addition, Richard is well experienced in the Areas of Estate Planning and dealing with Estate Probate and Administration and has guest lectured at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law; and, for the Legal Education Society of Alberta on the topics of Law Office Cyber Security and Using Technology to Take Your Office to the Next Level.
Richard is married with two children, has been a lifelong resident of the Athabasca – Plamondon - Lac La Biche area, served as Mayor of Athabasca from 2004-2007, is a graduate of Augustana University College (Camrose) and Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. . Richard has also sat as Town Councillor (Athabasca, 2010-2013) and is a recipient of the Order of Athabasca University. Richard currently resides in St. Albert and services our Edmonton signing office as well as Whitecourt and Athabasca as required.
