Mr. Martin received his undergraduate degree from Towson University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a host of scholarships and awards. While at Towson, Mr. Martin took advanced classes in chemistry and physiology, worked in the university’s physiology lab, and performed original research. He also found time to work as a trauma tech in the Critical Care and Intensive Care Units at the University of Maryland. Before going to law school, Jeff honed his advocacy skills by leading two highly-respected churches in Wisconsin and Appalachia. Mr. Martin is a graduate of the William & Mary School of Law, where he received his juris doctor with honors in the top 14% of his class. Because of his excellence in written and oral advocacy, Mr. Martin was awarded the Gambrell Professional Award. He received the CALI Award for his work with the PELE Special Education Advocacy Clinic and was honored with the Perkins Trust Scholarship. During his time at William & Mary, Mr. Martin was one of eleven students recognized for their excellence in analysis, research, writing, and trial practice for all four semesters. Tillotson began work on his book Virginia DUI Law: Understanding the Scientific, Medical, Technological, and Legal Aspects of a DUI Case, he turned to Mr. Martin for assistance. Over the past three decades, Doug has dedicated himself to providing excellent representation to criminal defendants. After graduating from Antioch College in Ohio, Doug went on to receive his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has attended the National College of DUI Defense conducted at Harvard Law School and was named a member to the college in 1997. In 2006, he became Minnesota's State Delegate to the College, serving in that post until 2022. Doug also enjoys the unique distinction of being one of only two criminal defense attorneys to complete the 2016 Borkenstein Course conducted at Indiana University which teaches the forensics of alcohol testing. He is a certified Intoxilyzer and DataMaster operator and fully trained in conducting NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.
