About Charles

Chuck Parsons has more than 37 years of experience in real estate law. He represents property owners, developers, buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, lending institutions and borrowers in the sale and purchase of real estate; IRC Section 1031 exchanges; lending and borrowing; title issues and title insurance; investment and development; drafting and negotiating leases and land development contracts.

Renowned by his peers as a leader in real estate law, Mr. Parsons co-chaired the MSBA Real Property Law Section's Legislative Committee for 20 years.  He is recognized as a "Super Lawyer" by his colleagues and was named a "Top 100 Super Lawyer" in Minnesota in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.  In addition, Mr. Parsons is ranked in Chambers USA for 2007, 2008 and 2009 and listed in Best Lawyers in America for 2008, 2009 and 2010.  Mr. Parsons lectures to attorneys on various real estate topics and is the author of numerous Continuing Legal Education texts on legislation and foreclosure.

Mr. Parsons is an elected member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the premier body for real estate attorneys in the United States, and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys where he serves on the Board of Regents, its governing body.  He is a member of the Real Property Sections of the American, Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations.  He also served on the Governing Council of the Real Property Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association for 20 years.  In November, 2006, the Real Property Law Section awarded Mr. Parsons its Distinguished Service Award.

In addition, Mr. Parsons is actively involved in many pro-bono activities.  He served as a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis and as a member of the Board of Directors of Mid-Minnesota Legal Assistance and as a member of the Board of Directors of Central Minnesota Legal Services.  In addition, Mr.Parsons provides assistance to Alliance Housing Incorporated, a provider of low income housing.  He led the Moss & Barnett team that assembled the land and spearheaded the first workforce housing project (80 units, 60 lower income and 20 at market rate) along the Hiawatha Light Rail line in Minneapolis.
