About Charles

Charles received his Bachelor of Science from Bradley University in 1963 and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University in 1966. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois; United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; the United States Tax Court; and the United States Supreme Court. After law school, Charles served with the United States Army for three years. He joined Kavanagh, Scully, Sudow, White & Frederick, P.C. as an Associate in 1969 and became a Member of the Firm in 1975. He is a veteran civil trial lawyer with significant jury trial, arbitration, and appellate practice experience. Charles has special expertise in the areas of product liability, personal injury, and defense of personal injury claims. With this experience, he has successfully represented individuals, businesses, and insurance companies and their insureds throughout the state. Charles has served as a professor at Illinois Central College and authored a chapter, Expert Witnesses in Commercial Litigation, for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education's practitioner's handbook on Business Litigation.

Charles is a member of the Peoria County, Illinois State, and American Bar Associations and active in their respective Sections on Litigation. In addition, he is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the American Arbitration Association. He is also active as a board member in community and charitable causes including the local chapters of the American Red Cross and Planned Parenthood.
