About Christian
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Christian Sotomayor graduated from Marist School in 2004. He attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Studies, a minor in History, and a certificate in Latin American Studies. While at Duke, Mr. Sotomayor connected with his Puerto Rican heritage and served on the board of the Latino Student Association. He also explored his interest in international development through internships abroad, including field research of microfinance programs in Tanzania and working for the U.S. Department of State in Costa Rica. After graduation, Mr. Sotomayor spent a year in Quintana Roo, Mexico, helping to organize medical missions in the Mayan villages of the Yucatan Peninsula. He also worked as an immigration paralegal for a year at the Latin American Association in Atlanta, GA.
During law school, Mr. Sotomayor served as President of the Hispanic Student Bar Association during his 2L year and received the Excellence in Litigation Award, Litigation Program Best Brief Award, and CALI Award for Alternative Dispute Resolution. He graduated with highest pro bono distinction.
From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Sotomayor worked as an associate attorney with the firm of Betts & Associates, litigating in state, superior, magistrate, juvenile, immigration, and federal courts, as well as before the State Board of Workers' Compensation. He managed the Rome office prior to starting his own firm in October of 2015.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, the outdoors, and traveling. He and his family moved to Rome, Georgia in March of 2014, and they enjoy exploring their new home city and the surrounding parks.
