About Christopher
Mr. Gruenewald's practice areas include business and finance, including real estate, and bankruptcy and creditors' rights. In his business and finance practice, Mr. Gruenewald has represented both lenders and borrowers in mortgage and other secured financing transactions, including negotiation, preparation and review of loan documents. Mr. Gruenewald also has experience in the formation and dissolution of entities of all types, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. He has been involved in numerous corporate acquisitions and mergers representing both buyers and sellers, and is experienced in federal premerger notification procedures. In his real estate practice, Mr. Gruenewald has negotiated and drafted commercial leases for both tenants and landlords. He also has extensive experience in the area of condominiums, having represented developers, owners and owners' associations. Mr. Gruenewald was a member of the Alabama Bar Institute committee which drafted the current condominium statute, the Alabama Uniform Condominium Act. Mr. Gruenewald's bankruptcy and creditors' rights practice involves representing primarily creditors, both secured and unsecured, in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. In that regard, he has been involved in numerous complex Chapter 11 reorganization cases both in the Southern District of Alabama and elsewhere. Mr. Gruenewald has been listed in Best Lawyers in America in the bankruptcy practice area.
