About David
David joined Mazanec, Raskin & Ryder Co., L.P.A. in 2002 and serves in the Columbus office. He brings to the firm over 20 years of trial and appellate litigation experience. David maintains a diverse practice, which includes appellate work in both state and federal courts, complex and class action litigation, insurance defense, civil rights, and constitutional litigation. David has handled cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and has also had considerable experience in defending physicians and other professionals in disciplinary cases before Ohio's various administrative boards, and in administrative appeals.
Before coming to the firm, David was a trial and appellate lawyer in a prominent Columbus firm. He previously served as the Chairman of the Columbus Regional Board of Review of the Ohio Industrial Commission, where he heard and decided more than 10,000 appeals in contested workers' compensation cases. Before becoming a litigator, David served as Legislative Assistant to the Minority Leader of the Ohio House of Representatives. In this capacity, David served as counsel to the Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee. He drafted and developed legislation and constitutional amendments and worked with legislators and lobbyists to achieve policy goals.
David's military experience included representing the United States in military appeals and advising commanders on a wide variety of civil and military law matters. His last military assignment was as Staff Judge Advocate of the 910 the Airlift Wing. He retired from the Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1997.
