Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented a mother in a modification of custody case. My client had been awarded primary physical custody of her daughter in the divorce when her child was a baby. Due to her drug use, she lost custody to the father in a modification. After she straightened up her life, stopped using drugs, got a job, and married, she hired me to file a modification of custody case. This was a complicated case involving emergency motions, temporary hearings, a guadian ad litem being appointed, mediation, and a final hearing. At the end of the case, custody was modified to give primary physical custody to my client of her daughter. This made a huge difference in the life of my client and her daughter.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
In a free phone consultation, it is helpful to provide a synopsis of the important facts of the case, basic party identification, and the issues. Generally, in a civil case, it is helpful to know where the other party resides. If the case is in litigation, the name of the case, any upcoming court dates, and the Judge's name and any opposing attorneys' names are also details which help. If the case is a criminal case, the charges, case number, and any upcoming court dates should be disclosed. A short summary of the basic and important facts of the case helps to make the most of the initial phone conference.
