Lawyer.com Member Questionnaire
Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
We retained a personal injury client in which his former attorney was trying to convince the client to settle the case of an unacceptable settlement offer. Client refused to do so, and retained our firm. After litigating the case for about a year, we were able to settle the case for a much higher settlement (six-digit). Client was extremely pleased with the reached settlement.
How did you build a successful practice?
Serendib Law Firm APC was established to advocate justice for the people. Our practice has built a foundation that strongly emphasizes in providing an honest attorney-client relationship and excellent legal assistance. No matter the circumstances we are committed and prepared to achieve the best outcome for our clients. We understand that navigating legal matters can be a challenging task. We are experienced and have the necessary support to navigate our clients through the complex legal system to reach satisfactory and reasonable results.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Integrity, honesty and experience in handling complex legal matters and the proven ability to achieve client goals reasonably.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
An attorney should at all times have the experience in handling complex legal matters. Therefore, we only accept clients with legal matters that we have experience in handling and the necessary support to achieve our client’s reasonable expectations.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
After taking a factual intake of the potential client’s matter, we can give a brief overview of the legal issues and if client wishes to do a further consultation, we will be able and ready to greet client at our offices or even schedule another phone consultation free of charge after careful evaluation.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
During our initial intake with potential client, we try to get as much information as possible in order to fairly evaluate the case.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Once we have identified the potential legal issues and after conducting investigation, we evaluate the potential claims with client and inform them of the strengths and weakness, likelihood of prevailing at litigation and trial. We are honest in our evaluation with our clients and give the “cold heart” factual analysis so clients can make an informed decision as which direction he/she wants to take with litigation and what would be a reasonable recovery, if any. If the case lack merits or would result in negative impact on client, we will advise client accordingly. Once we have made a decision with clients, we set a litigation strategy and zealously purse our clients’ reasonable goals and expectations.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Attaining our clients’ reasonable goals and expectations.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Besides practicing law for approximately 15 years, I am also a musician and play in a band that has been together for more than 10 years.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes, besides practicing Personal Injury and Employment Law, I also assist my community in immigration matters and have conducted pro bono immigration workshops throughout Orange County and Los Angeles County.
