I was born, raised and grew up in Orange County, getting married and raising three children within the local community. I graduated from the University of California at Irvine with a degree in history in 1994 and went to Chapman University Law School; graduating from this institution in their inaugural class. Since being admitted to the bar our firm has been practicing mostly bankruptcy law amassing thousands of cases discharged for our clients. William Campbell began his working career by serving in the United States Army as an infantryman in the 101st Airborne Division. After serving and honorably discharged, William utilized the G.I. Bill and graduated Cum Laude from California State University Fullerton. After graduating with a B.A., William attended Southwestern Law School, passed the California State Bar Exam, and started down the road of practicing law. William is a member of the California and Tennessee State Bar. William is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of California. William started his legal career practicing criminal law at both the Fresno County Public Defenders office and ultimately in the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office prosecuting both low level misdemeanors such as Driving Under the Influence cases (DUI’s) all the way up to Three Strike Felony Cases. William entered the Civil Law arena in 2009 focusing on the Federal Fair Debt Collections practices Act and The California Rosenthal Act protecting debtors from debt collectors engaging in illegal collection practices. To this day William is asserting the rights of debtors against creditors and debt collectors whether the debt is being alleged in a lawsuit or is already reduced to judgment. William represents clients in both complex criminal and civil litigation matters and enjoys the courtroom and especially enjoys presenting cases to juries. In 2016 William Campbell became an adjunct professor at Trinity Law School.

Benjamin T. Ikuta is a trial attorney who has been licensed in California since 2008. For his entire career, Ben has focused on cases of wrongdoing against healthcare providers. Ben is a preeminent attorney in prosecuting medical malpractice actions who has tried multiple cases to verdict. He has presented and been published many times on medical malpractice issues.

Nicholas J. Leonard is a seasoned trial attorney who now manages Ikuta Hemesath’s Northern California office. Nick has practiced exclusively in medical malpractice after graduating from law school in 2008. Specifically, for the first 14 years of his career, Nick practiced as a defense attorney at Low McKinley & Salenko, a prestigious medical malpractice defense firm located in Sacramento. While there, Nick quickly rose through the ranks and became a partner in 2014. Hired by insurance companies, Nick successfully defended countless doctors, nurses, and hospitals in civil actions and board proceedings. Nick even presented to medical malpractice insurance companies, large hospitals, and medical groups on how to limit exposure in medical malpractice lawsuits. Michelle Buxton Hemesath’s practice is focused on representing injured victims and their families. She formed Ikuta Hemesath, LLP in April of 2022 with law partner, Ben Ikuta. Michelle was raised in Torrance, California. She attended college at San Diego State University. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in political science, Michelle attended the University of San Diego School of Law. While at there, she participated in the university’s special education clinic advocating on behalf of students and parents to ensure students received the maximum benefits allowable under the law. Michelle graduated in the top twenty percent of her class and received awards in Complex Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
