Doreen Yaffa is one of a handful of divorce attorneys in South Florida who is board certified in Marital and Family Law. Doreen Yaffa earned her board certification in 2001 and has remained a member of The Florida Bar in excellent standing throughout her career.

Only six percent of eligible Florida Bar members are board certified. Per The Florida Bar, “Board certification recognizes attorneys’ special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice.” Certification is The Florida Bar’s highest level of proven competency and experience in the 24 areas of law approved for certification by the Supreme Court of Florida.

Ms. Yaffa has received an AV Preeminent peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell in both “legal ability” and “ethical standards.” She is a member of the American Bar Association, Palm Beach County Bar Association, South Palm Beach County Bar Association, as well as the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Yaffa is licensed to practice before the Florida and U.S. District Courts and the Southern District of Florida. As one of South’s Florida’s most seasoned divorce attorneys, Ms. Yaffa has diverse trial experience, and she has handled numerous complex, high profile cases.

In addition to her 20+ year expertise as a litigator, Ms. Yaffa is a passionate advocate for and specially trained in collaborative divorce. This practice empowers divorced parties to resolve legal disputes without judges, magistrates or the courts making decisions. The two parties’ attorneys collaborate with a team comprised of “neutral” mental health and financial professionals to educate, support and guide clients in reaching balanced, respectful agreements.
