Mr. Wiest conducted contested case hearings for the State Department of Administrative Hearings in areas as diverse as Corrections and Special Education. On December 31, 2005, the Executive Director of the State Office of Hearings and Rules issued a Certificate of Recognition lauding the standard of excellence set by Mr. Wiest in conducting administrative hearings on behalf of the State of Michigan.
