About Edwin
Mr. Akers is a trial and appellate attorney with more than twenty years experience in the litigation and arbitration of all types of commercial disputes and insurance matters. His broad experience includes product liability matters, coverage issues related to insurance contracts and physician peer review hearings and procedures. Mr. Akers served as counsel for an insurance company in a significant case recently decided by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals which involved questions of coverage under a medical malpractice policy issued to a major medical school. He also acted as national coordinating counsel for a manufacturer regarding products liability claims being defended by various insurance carriers.
Mr. Akers is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He also has tried cases in the federal courts in the Seventh, Eleventh and Second Circuits as well as in many State Courts.
