Mr. Margolis has been rated “highly qualified” by judges and other attorneys, according to legal rating service Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and its criminal law section, the Detroit Bar Association, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, the Oakland County Bar Association and the Wayne County Family Law Committee.

In addition to his law firm’s emphasis on family law matters, Mr. Margolis is a highly regarded criminal attorney who has handled many high-profile state and federal criminal matters. He has argued a number of appellate matters in the areas of family law and criminal law. His highly respected knowledge of the law has resulted in numerous appellate decisions in his clients’ favor that have been used to make new law in both family and criminal law.

Mr. Margolis is a 1977 graduate of the University of Detroit Law School. He has extensive experience throughout Michigan as well as throughout several federal courts in other states. Married to a psychologist/social worker who has been active in the mental health field for many years, Mr. Margolis has had the opportunity to acquire strong knowledge in the field of psychology.
