About Ethel
Ethel D. Andersen has concentrated her law practice in the areas of estate planning and probate since she and her husband, Tom, founded the firm in 1988. She represents a variety of individuals, many with complex estate tax issues and family issues. She has spoken frequently at the annual Basic Estate Planning Seminar sponsored by the fiduciary law section of the Georgia Bar Association. Ms. Andersen has been given an "AV" rating by the Martindale-Hubbell National Legal Directory.
Ms. Andersen attended the University of Georgia School of Law where she was selected for membership on the Georgia Law Review. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1975 from the Emory University School of Law, where she was a member of the Emory Moot Court Society. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Duke University in 1971.
Ms. Andersen was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Georgia in 1975 and is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court. She is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia and a former Administrative Law Judge for the State of Georgia. She has been designated as a Special Master for the Georgia Supreme Court in attorney disciplinary proceedings.
Ms. Andersen has been very involved in the Gwinnett County community and has served on numerous charitable boards. She currently serves on the board of the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia and recently served as board president. She is on the boards of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation and the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services. She was recently appointed by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners to the Citizens’ Advisory Board for Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful. She participates in the Gwinnett Bar Association's Truancy Intervention Project and recently served as attorney volunteer coordinator for the Project. She is a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett and has served on the executive committee for its alumni council. Ms. Andersen was also a founding board member of the Gwinnett/North Fulton Junior League and was a founding board member and past president of the Gwinnett Council for the Arts.
