About Everett
Rett joined the firm after graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1996. He graduated from Furman University, where he earned a B.A. degree in Business Administration. While in law school, Rett participated in a dual-degree program and earned both a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration.
Rett's practice areas include general commercial and business litigation, construction litigation, products liability and automobile negligence. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, Defense Research Institute and the Christian Legal Society.
In law school, Rett served as the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the South Carolina Review and authored The South Carolina Limited Liability Act of 1994, 47 S.C.L. Rev.181 (1995). In addition, Rett participated as a member of the National Trial Advocacy team. Rett was also a member of the Moot Court Bar and competed on the National First Amendment Competition team. He was also active with U.S.C. student chapter of the Christian Legal Society, serving as its president.
Rett is a native of Simpsonville, South Carolina. He is married to Nancy Meier Kendal, formerly of Birmingham, Alabama; they have three children. Rett and his wife are active members of Shandon Baptist Church where Rett teaches Sunday School, serves on the Men's Ministry Committee, and sings in the choir. Among his hobbies are swimming and wood-working.
