They rejected my retaliation case. Not sure why, it falls under what they SAY they represent. Instead, I was redirected to a website to find an Attorney that handles Disability Rights......Which isn't what my case falls under. She didn't say WHY, just basically no. My case is pretty much open and shut. I feel like these Attorneys in today's time want something flat out easy. They don't want anything that actually requires them to do the work, and DEFEND. They want quick payouts, and BIG cases. If they feel like the case isn't going to bring them a big check, they don't want it. However, the paralegal was very nice.
Do not use this law firm. I was accepted as a client in May of this year. Things were going great, but my lawyer left the firm and no one at Barrett and Farahany told me she left until I emailed my legal team for something I needed. My lawyer was switched without notice. Then, I was assigned to a second lawyer and she ended up leaving the firm. Again, I was not told when she left. I found out she left when I emailed my legal team with an update from the EEOC. Again, no notice of her leaving from this firm. Now my current legal team is rushing me to respond to extensive documentation we received in order to file a lawsuit before the statute of limitations arrives. Mind you, it is now October and my case has been lying dormant since August because this firm failed to communicate with me multiple times about my legal team changing and attorneys leaving. Go to another law firm for your case.
I addressed my concerns with Ms Hobby, and she was very knowledgeable and understanding. She thoroughly listened so that she could provide me with sound advice. I would definitely recommend this firm to anyone in need of the type of assistance they offer.
Although, we only spoke for a limited amount of time, I feel like she had my best interest at heart. I was directed in my next step and was able to actually fulfill that next step as soon as we hung up. I feel as though I made some progress today that is WAY overdue. I am very hopeful that BARRETT & FARAHANY will do their very best to get me the fair outcome I should.
Although my situation didn't necessarily fall within the purview of workplace violations that Barrett & Farahany would address, I was provided another avenue (EEOC) to pursue in getting my matter addressed. I appreciate their guidance in doing that. It gives me hope that I may be able to get resolution.
