I spoke with Hal and would have to say my experience was "decent", at best. I needed to create an LLC, which he said he charged over $700. He was nice enough to mention that he would "give me an EIN". He obviously did that to try to justify his EXTREME cost. FYI....an EIN is provided to you when you create an LLC. Additionally, I could tell he wanted to sell me as many services as possible b/c he was recommending things that I did NOT ask for. He seemed nice enough, but kind of scatter brained and almost not comfortable talking with someone who is savvy about this process. My advice....FIND ANOTHER LAWYER. He is also a CPA and having experienced him first hand, there is NO WAY I would want him working on my books, no telling how much he would try to charge you.

Hal Berger is the nicest and most helpful lawyer I’d say you’ll statistically find in Charlotte. He’s just totally unexpectedly excellent. A true craftsman in real estate legal matters. I send everyone to him and try to use him for all legal matters as a starting point. His sister is an excellent painter too and has her original artwork in his office, like an art exhibit.
