My experience with Johnson/Turner was not a positive experience. I spent my time tracking down countless paperwork only to have them come back requesting more. This cycle went on for months, with me always reaching out them wondering where we were in the process. It took 7 months to serve my ex-wife. I was always in the dark with where I was at in the process. Eventually I had to reach out to the owner, Erin Turner, who was amazing to get things moving. However it didn't take long before my team forgot about me again. I guess I wasn't a high profile case or something. In all it took almost exactly one year to get divorced when I was told by the owner it should have taken only a few months. I think they are a good law firm because a friend had a very positive experience with them and the main reason I went with them, but unfortunately I got a team with zero interest in my case. So just a heads up, make sure you keep on your lawyer, because more than likely they will not reach out to you. Ask a lot of questions up front about the process and take notes. You will only hear it once. Finally, make sure you understand the different divorce packages. They only do what is described, not a thing more unless you pay to upgrade your package. In my case I had to do all of the negotiation with my ex-wife's lawyer. Negotiation is an upgraded package I learned later in the process. $5,500 gets you paperwork (that you provide) and filing with the state. Advice, well good luck that, better sharpen your negotiation skills or pay another 2-3k. In the end I really liked the owner and the senior paralegal that took over in the end. My lawyer was full of excuses, never answered my emails, if i wanted to talk with her it two to three weeks to get on her schedule and all she wanted to do was sell me more expensive packages. Every task, and I mean every task my lawyer had to do was delayed, forgotten, and took 6x more time than it should. I did get divorced, but it was very painful, I had no idea what i was doing and the communication from my lawyer was nil. I can't recommend Johnson/Turner, but i wouldn't discount them either, maybe I just had a very bad experience and it was anomaly.
I have not had a very good experience with this firm. My lawyer was not on top of things and I had to keep a log to make sure things were taken care of because of the lack of attention and care for their clients. Many things that were to be addressed at one time were not completed at the end. There was a change in lawyers in the middle of my case and it was like they only cared about money and I felt like I was starting over with representation that didn't even know the details that were being addressed. In the long run my representation was lacking and had ended up missing many concerns and now when I ask about then it is like I'm being blown off because the order is done. Please save yourself money and frustration and look elsewhere. I feel very taken advantage of and there is nothing I can do about it.
I honestly wish I'd gone somewhere else. I didn't feel like my lawyer fought for me in any way throughout my divorce. I didn't feel like I received any advice and they didn't really make me feel like it was ever ok to answer questions. I paid over 15k for one mediation session in which custody was determined and then to simply draft the rest of the divorce. My lawyer was on vacation more than in the office working on my case. I would not recommend as the price didn't equal good service.
We had put off getting our wills done but everyone at Johnson/Turner made the whole process very easy. Michael was great to work with and it all took less time than we expected.
It was a pleasure to have Michael Metherd as my Lawyer in my matter. Very professional, helpful and friendly.
