Always helpful. I hope that maybe one day they would have investigation department that helps people with finance problems banks, lemon cars flood cars , identity theft, they need FBI agent and Social worker for the elderly for scammers. But All in All they do a Great Job .Many blessings
The BBB was a big help to me when I had an issue with a medical provider. The provider received $140 more than the allowable charges between payments from me during two office visits and from my insurance company. I did not discover the overpayment for six months after the second visit. It is not a lot of money but my expectation is that an ethical competent business would have sent a check unsolicited by that time. I spoke to the office on the phone requesting the refund the first time, several weeks later I contacted them via their web page with no response. After making another phone call and failing to reach someone, I went and read some really poor reviews about the office staff etc. I decided to check out the BBB on line to see if there was any recourse. I was able to fill out the required form to register a complaint and also easily drag and drop files of my two explanation of benefit forms as well as copies of my credit card statement showing my direct payments. {The web site had very easy to understand instructions to upload the required "proof" of your claim. You can take photos of paper documents as well and of course make copies of documents and mail to the BBB with the required claim form.} I was shortly thereafter notified by the BBB that the form had been received and had been passed on to the provider. Unfortunately the medical provider also did not respond to the BBB who advised me that they would close the case and record the failure to respond for the business but if I wanted to take it further it would have to go through the courts etc. I was ready to write it off as a loss and wrote an honest review of my experience when a check for the full amount was received by itself in a hand written envelope. I then notified and thanked the BBB for their support and that the case can be closed successfully. The experience really made me happy to see that justice can still be attained by the little guy against the machine.
I had a warranty claim through the company I bought my television from. It was decided that I was to get a refund as the TV couldn't be fixed. After months of being told a check would be mailed and once that a check had been mailed, I contacted the BBB for some muscle power backup. I immediately heard from the television company and a check was issued and received within the same week. The BBB was instrumental in my case as they are the only reason this issue was finally handled.
I filed a complaint against a company about my car to BBB, and all the company had to do was lie and say they don’t have my car, and that was w enough to satisfy the BBB and they closed my complaint. Then, I leave bad review about the BBB, and they say they even find my complaint. What??? You can’t find it because you closed it. I have the confirmation email sent saying that! Am I going to have to go to FTC about the BBB? This is a nightmare.
I live in Texas, but the business I had an issue with is located in South Carolina; so I contacted this office via their website. Nonetheless, the assistance I received and the dispute resolution process were superb. Prior to contacting the Better Business Bureau of Central South Carolina and Charleston, I had made several attempts to resolve the issue with the business; to no avail. I filed a complaint with the Central SC and Charleston BBB, and soon after, the business contacted me and we resolved the issue to my satisfaction. Without the dispute resolution process of the Better Business Bureau, I would have had to partake in a costly and time consuming civil suit.
