Doctor is by far the most careless doctor that we have ever met. Spent a whole 4 seconds with patient in the hospital during an 5 day stay.. and never even looked at the infected area only from a distance like he was afraid be a doctor. Being home and then having to deal with the office staff has been the worst experience we have ever had to deal with. The lady that answers the phone is very very unprofessional very rude.. even yells at you over the phone to try and get her point across. Does not let you get a word in and talks over you constantly. Does not help in any way. Just very rude and should not have a job! A doctor that has a 2.1 star review rate should be SHUT DOWN. This is more the Unacceptable it is down right dangerous that he has peoples lives in his hands. I am disgusted
I was referred to this Dr. first if all his staff is very rude. Even when you make a phone call. Second the dr never gets back to you when you have questions or concerns. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM!
*I don’t read others’ reviews before writing my own because I don’t want to be somehow swayed. After posting this review, I read the others. While I don’t feel validated because of the other similar reviews-its too sad and honestly the entire experience has left me crestfallen, I am not surprised to see what the other reviews say. I gave Dr. Hanna’s reception staff a one-star rating because they were rude on more than one occasion on the phone and did not return phone calls. I never got an appointment even though I had a referral and my records faxed to the office. My internist made a different referral because of the ordeal. So, I cannot comment on anything other than the unprofessional, indifferent, and pompous “welcome” I received from the person or people who answer the phone. Dr. Hanna is an INFECTIOUS DISEASE specialist. Those who need an appointment have many a bit of uneasiness about their situation-even fear and anxiety. Compassion would go a long way if the clerical staff understood and embraced it. I’ve seen many clerical workers not only show they know the meaning of empathy and also be exceptionally professional at the same time. No one wants to chit-chat when making doctor appointments, but tone and intention are conveyed, without a doubt when it is dismissive. You’d think hiring empathetic and warm people to answer the phone would be a given, even a priority. It’s the first impression everyone gets when dealing with this office. My internist is well respected and has won the Hour magazine’s top-rated doctor in the past. My doctor, his fantastic in every way staff, and I are still shaking our heads incomprehensibly because it was such an unusual and unpleasant experience. I don’t speak out because of some satisfaction in reprisal. I speak out and review because I have had many experiences over the decades with medical professionals and the people who work for them and with them. From clerical workers to medical assistants, surgeons, hospital administration and custodial workers, I’ve had interaction with them all usually on behalf of someone else. It comes down to this, if you dislike your job, yourself, or the people you interact with so much so that you are rude and unpleasant--get a different job. *If I find a less than stellar review should be written, I always try to write two positive reviews ASAP in a related or unrelated area.
I stayed at the hospital for 3 days (which my insurance covered most of it). However I received a surprise bill after I was released in the mail from "Michel Hanna MD" for $490. I had cellulitis a skin infection that was already taken care of by antibiotics and the doctors at the hospital. I was all set, taken care of and healing. Well he came into my room a few days in a row for 5 minutes with his "observation opinion" and said "looks like the swelling is going down and you are doing better". I could have paid anyone with a degree or no degree to point out the obvious for $490.
My husband got an infection after spine surgery. Never actually got to even see Dr. Hanna. His office cancelled/rescheduled my husbands appt's 3 times then tried to cancel /reschedule Picc line removal after antibiotic infusion treatments were completed, guess they felt it was ok to walk around with uneeded picc line in. Not recommened at all!!
