Bobby Long is a nice man but I wouldn’t use him if you are going through a divorce.He comes across very trustworthy. All he did was take advantage of a situation were emotions were running very high. There were several very important things that he did not do on my behalf because he said he did not want to spend my money. We had video evidence from a private investigator that showed my ex wife comitting adultery with Rankin County constable Glenn Dixon and he refused to use it as leverage during our mediation stating that he had sent them a letter and there was no need. He let my ex wife s attorney talk to me like I was a dog during mediation and didn’t even think about defending me. He couldn’t even broker a 50/50 split where there was adultery involved. He didn’t want to go to trial because he said it would be too expensive. It became very obvious to me at the end that he didn’t have my best interest in mind. My red flag should have been when he told me he thought her lawyer was good looking. It became clear to me that he was more worried about being her friend than he was getting me a fair deal.All he was worried about was running the bill up. He didn’t want to settle when my bill was only $1800. That wasn’t good enough. It got drug out to $8300. He told me that I was not allowed to beat the closing of my house which turned out not to be true per my ex wife. He only wanted the check which he ran through a trust and took $6800 off the top instead of me being able to deposit and settle up with him. The entire reason he did that was that deep down he knew his services were not worthy of that much money. $200 per hour. My entire life I’ve heard the saying “my lawyer screwed me”. Well that’s exactly what I feel happened to me. It’s very unfortunate because he is a very nice man and on the days I could actually get him on the phone (he didn’t call me not one single time during deer season) you would have thought I was talking to a friend or relative. I would use Bobby for a real estate transaction any day of the week but never during a potentially high profile divorce where the evidence is on your side.
