Ken H. Lester, Attorney at Law

I have known Ken Lester for decades, both as a legal professional and friend. I, too, am in the legal profession and have trusted Ken and his firm to represent me and my family. I have assisted him in some of his cases and witnessed his professionalism and compassion for his clients and his fellow attorneys. I have, and will continue, to recommend Ken Lester for any family law litigation in this state and elsewhere.

Ken Lester was voted the most outstanding Attorney in Columbia. I have known him for over 35 years and had many dealings with him. He is one of the most honorable men I have ever met. He took a leave from the legal business to open a racket ball facility in Columbia and I hired him to give me lessons so I could compete with some of the former football players who lived in the Apartment complex that I lived in after finishing college at USC. When I told him who I was competing with he said "I am a pretty good instructor but not good enough to teach you to beat those world class athletes". He was honest. He helped my sister in a child custody case and did it pro-bono. I don't think you will find any of his former Carolina teammates who will not give him anything but stellar reviews. His reputation among his legal peers and judges is outstanding. I was shocked when I read these negative reviews on Google. They don't reflect the Ken Lester that I know.

I have known Ken Lester for fifty years beginning with a class of his at Midlands TEC. He hired me to be his part time secretary in my senior year. I have worked for Ken off and on until I finished law school in 1986. I practiced in Family Court as a Guardian ad Litem and worked on many cases with Ken and his firm. I have always known him to practice with the utmost integrity and an uncanny knowledge of Family Law. He is well respected by other members of the Bar and the Judiciary. I moved to Alaska in 2003 and gave up my law license in 2008. I moved back to South Carolina in 2015 and did not want to sit for the bar so I began looking for a paralegal position or office manager of a law firm. I called Ken and he and his partner hired me as Office Manager/Paralegal in 2016. I have the utmost respect for Ken and would welcome working with him again if the opportunity should arise.

I am going through a very difficult divorce and Mr. Lester and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and efficient. They are quick to answer emails and any questions that I have regarding my case. Definitely am glad I chose Ken H. Lester to represent me!

Do not under any circumstances hire Ken Lester as your attorney! He is very old and is senile and/or has dementia. He cannot retain facts. He spent several times more than he estimated my case would cost. He is belligerent, profane, and has a horrible temper. Despite charging me several hundred thousand dollars, he was not at all prepared for trial.
