Love my school! One thing that I do not like after coming back in person two years later, to find out that the protocol that is being put in place, isn't followed in some classes and students are squeezed rubbing shoulders( literally) in tighter spaces than narrow airline seats. I hope they will be removed and classes will be held in larger rooms for students of 30 or adapted by space and size. Ventilation is really an issue. If you preach social distancing, but don't provide it, then that is a huge contradiction. I really love my school though, no other one I'd like to go to otherwise..
I had the best two years of my life at University of Maryland. UMD gave me all opportunities to succeed, great research school and average tuition costs. Diverse student population and very close to DC. Surrounded by lots of companies in DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia which is a great advantage.
Just driving through as a shortcut however, it wasn't as short as expected. Nor was it easy to find my way around! Beautiful campus though
Lots of construction making the place more of a maze. Now the good. Love seeing that campus (to be fair my experience is limited). Great food options. Pleasant people walking about.
Federally Funded University, close to Subway Metro Train Stations, Free UMD Bus Shuttles to & from College Park Metro station, excellent Sports & Academic Programs. Many Dining facilities available throughout the campus. There's more but i can't list them all here...????
