Was very weary about filing a bankruptcy. I went and spoke to Scott and he answered all of my questions (even if I thought they might seem redundant). I took many months to decide to finally go through with it and he was supportive and respectful of the time I needed to make a thorough decision. Once I decided to go forward with the filing, he was available and easy to contact. He explained the entire process and had it filed in a very timely manner. From start of meeting him to end of the process was a lot faster than anticipated.

Great Attorney overall. After a long divorce I needed the guidance and legal knowledge to get on with my life. Scott Shumaker was able to help me with this. He was always great with speaking to me on the phone or replying to emails. When I went to court he represented me very professionally and was able to take care of my needs. I work for Scott so maybe this review sounds a little biased. With that being said, Scott is the most ethical attorney I have ever met. I'm not exaggerating. He is also extremely well-versed in Bankruptcy law. Having him on your side would be the best decision you've ever made. A lot of people don't understand that the Sacramento Bankruptcy community is tight knit. Everyone knows each other. The local judges and trustees know Scott very well and respect him. That means that difficult cases are made easier simply by virtue of the fact Scott can pick up the phone to a trustee and discuss the best possible solution. I have seen cases that should never have gone forward, go through the system and successfully come out the other end. You know what else? He picks up the phone. He speaks with you directly. Actually, he's rather strict about this rule with me. ALL phone calls must be answered. If not answered, then the client needs to hear from us in less than one business day. I can't praise this man highly enough. I have a ton of respect and admiration for him.
