Recently I used Stacy for 2 real estate closings. Often times there was a lack of communication either w/myself or the other closing attorney by not responding in a timely matter. Prior to selling my home I asked Stacy to guide me regarding a lien on my title in order to stay ahead of any issues that may happen down the road. She had all the necessary information from me as well as researching info herself. She discussed what I needed to do to resolve the matter but at no time did she inform me there was a chance of a higher pay off amount that was recorded at the court house. I had specified the exact amount on the paperwork in front of me several times through many discussions though at no time did Stacy EVER mention the amount owed could be higher or I needed to call the lien holder for a pay-off amount, nor did she do this... As it turns out the pay-off amount was literally triple of what she thought I owed, $65k which is a HUGE oversight on her part! Not to mention she should have advised me to resolve this issue prior to closing, not after the fact. I ended up having to hire an additional attorney to resolve the lien matter which I should have done in the first place had she provided me with the various possibilities, instead completely dropped the ball or ill advising me. The new attorney couldn't believe she didn't know better. When I discussed the horrible situation I was now in as well as the buyers attorney who didn't hold back enough $, she shrugged it off, deflected, and lacked any ownership, only to say I can't believe the pay out was that high and assumed I would have known. Why would you assume I would know when she was shocked as well. I'd look elsewhere...
