Reviews

I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional legal support I received from Richard in my OUI case. Richard truly cares about his clients and treats them with respect.I wholeheartedly recommend Richard to anyone in need of a top-notch attorney who genuinely cares about their clients' well-being and success.
Inattentive to detail and only will take a case if they can profit off of you. From my first impression during consultation it was blatant they do not care about their clientele, only making money.
I am a victim of a drunk/drugged driver. I was walking home on the side walk in Weymouth when I was hit. Accident was caught on film. Guy has over 30 years of driving infractions. I suffered a brain hemridge, severed aorta, fractured diafram, broken ribs, severed liver, bruised kidneys, replaced abdominal muscles, plastic surgery on my face, replaced knee, broken leg, broken foot. Was in a comma for 6 weeks. The insurance company let this guy drive with $20,000 insurance. My hospital are well over $200 thousand. Out of the $20,000. I received $1700. That is all this law firm was able to recover. They got $6000, state insurance took $6000. Cause I was in recovery child support took $6000. I was told it's a unfortunate case. And that's all they can recover. Not willing to pursue anything else. No communication at all. I would not recommend this firm to anyone. When I asked about info. I was treated like I was bothering them. I am permanently disabled from this accident and forced to live this way for life. I am currently homeless.
Steve Bergel was my lawyer, but he delegated work on my case to others. Questions to Philip Bongiorno, the person I was told to stay in touch with, were answered rudely and abruptly if at all. I attempted to fire Steve Bergel and secure another lawyer when he humbly apologized. He convinced me he could help someone with an injury as severe as mine. He’d take full charge of my case and I’d communicate with him exclusively. He told me everything I wanted to hear. I believed my case was in better hands, until I saw the demand letter. It was signed by Philip Bongiorno, the lawyer I complained about, and was a simple list of medical expenses with a total. That’s it. There’s no record of how I was represented or by whom. Steve Bergel told me my settlement was negotiated verbally. I was never asked for my input at any time during settlement negotiations. I didn’t know negotiations had occurred until after they were finished. At the time, I had nearly three years of medical records. My pain and suffering and current physical limitations were not mentioned in settlement negotiations. I would have had to provide that information and nobody asked me for it. When I questioned this, Steve Bergel provided a series of canned responses saying this is how they’ve always done things in this firm. If you’ve done good work, you don’t hide behind rehearsed words and evasive responses. I was offered no explanation and I’ll never know what happened with my case. I was neglected, misled, and misrepresented. I am sick to my stomach remembering how I decided to give Steve Bergel a second chance. I had to deal with the stress of making tough decisions after my ability to influence or even understand the outcome of my settlement was pulled out from under me. I wish I’d seen a review like this three years ago. I hope this helps you make better choices than I did. This firm has no integrity.
Great law firm, attorney Kahalas really cares about his clients. He’s extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and transparent.
