If your looking for an employment lawyer chances are you need help. You know that you were mistreated but maybe you do don't understand the process and maybe your not aware of your rights. What I experienced is that most Attorneys want thousands of dollars up front just to get into a room with them. That's before they can even articulate any value they can bring to your case. This gave me a bad taste and I started to understand the stereo type. I thought their oath was to help the people who cannot help themselves, because we were terminated or retaliated against. I hired Carey and Associates for a fairly simple matter and my bill was very quickly run up to almost $10,000 despite my attorney admitting to getting carried away with research. After charging me $5,000 she admitted that the burden of proof was not on me and I asked to limit all further charges to less than an hour. There have been $4000 in charges after that communication. i have asked Mr Carey for assistance in this matter and was quickly dismissed and asked to pay my bill. I would be very careful hiring Carey and Associates and pay very close attention to keeping the attorneys on task. While my matter was resolved, I would have been better off ignoring the threats from a disgruntled contractor. Lesson learned.
