I was accused of a crime I did not commit. A 1st degree felony with a maximum sentence of 30yrs! I always kinda thought that this charge would somehow go away but it never did. It only got more and more serious as time went on. Literally, no-one wanted to hear my story until I met Attorney Lett. He not only believed that I should not of been charged with a 1st degree felony, he actually began to build a coherent strategy to fight it. On the day of trial, the prosecutor was still committed to prosecute my case and send me to prison for a long time. Attorney Lett kept his cool and kept going forward with his strategy to intelligently show the jury that I was not guilty. After the jury was paneled and after our opening statements, the next day, the prosecutor agreed to lower my charge to a misdemeanor, adjudication withheld, with 1 year probation suspended after 6 months! Needless to say, everyones jaw dropped including the judge as I went from a 1st degree felony facing 30 years to a simple misdemeanor.
