Good luck is all I can say....

I will share my experience. In my many travels as US Army 82nd Airborne soldier I have never felt discrimination because of my race until today. I showed up on time, signed what I had to sign and brought the funds necessary to the table as he had instructed. He showed frustration speaking to my agent and speaking to me because I have made a mistake this Veterans Day when I transferred funds from one account to another for the closing. It was my mistake and I did not realize that Monday the banks would not be open. When I did a 3 day transfer I realized my funds would be late by one day. I was still able to bring other funds to the table and close as Mr. Milam required on time. He did not care to ask anything all he did was demand. After many insults during the closing, “you don’t know what you are doing” “you don’t know what you are taking about” plus a few more. I asked for the wire instructions and that’s were he lost it. He told me a plethora things. Do you not communicate with your agent, I sent it 3 time....and so forth. I tried to explain that I don’t wire funds unless I physically receive the wire instructions in my hand at closing. There is to much fraud out there. He did not care to let me speak. The final blow came when MR. Milan gave me the wire papers and pointed at a printed email (he put it very close to my face by the way) look here! For the 3rd time this the email with the wire amount “IN PLAIN ENGLISH”. I have an accent when I speak that’s when I realized his tone of voice when he clearly said to me “IN PLAIN ENGLISH”. I felt like he was calling me stupid or none English speaking person. As a monitory I will never recommend this attorney and all my future closing I will not accept any clients that want to close with Mr Milan. I personally do 80+ closings per year and by far this has been the worst experience I have had.

I’ve used Dan’s services for several closings and he has always been incredibly helpful. I recently had a very trying experience buying with a difficult lender and an unhelpful agent, and Dan and his assistant were my beacons of hope throughout a very stressful process. Highly recommended.

In my 6 years being in real estate I have never met someone so unprofessional as Dan Milam. Not only did he insulted me and my business, he handled himself unprofessionally and was inadequate to do the job. I will advice all my clients to never do business with him!

After calling 5 other firms who deal in real estate issues and promised a call back and no call came back! I called Milam & Idol. Attorney Milam returned my call within 20 minutes and said he could take care of updating our Quitclaim Deed this week. We gave him the information he required and for a very reasonable price (compared to two other attorney's I spoke with) we completed the changes 3 days later and he also took are of having it delivered to the Register of Deeds in Durham. If you are looking for an attorney who returns calls and get's the job done, I would recommend Milam & Idol!
