My case is high profile and very complicated. I researched many attorneys for their specialty in ineffective counsel claims, many attorneys don’t like to handle cases against other attorneys, making my search for a great attorney that much more challenging. George Newman was recommended repeatedly in the circles I was investigating. When I initially spoke with Mr. Newman he was not on board with representing me. He informed me that he does not understandably take ineffective assistance of counsel lightly. He asked to review my case without any obligations before he made a decision. After reviewing my case Mr. Newman recognized the miscarriage of justice and would represent me. He worked tirelessly, returned all my calls—nights and weekends, he vetted all my witnesses, reviewed my case with me, and prepared me for my case. He was not afraid to challenge my prior attorney and in fact got him to agree to the facts of my claims. I did not get the outcome I sought, BUT that was not because Mr. Newman did not present an excellent case—UNFORTUNATELY as former Attorney General Eric Holder and President OBAMA said in the past, our system is seriously broken. The one CLEAR message I can impart throughout this entire process about Mr. Newman’s integrity is that he is brutally honest. He told me I had a strong case but nothing is guaranteed in this system. On more than one occasion he told me he did not want to take my money on subsequent appeals as the chances of winning are slimmer through each proceeding appellate process. That is priceless, he could have taken my money with ease, but he chose integrity and his reputation. In my 25 years as a law enforcement officer George Newman stands out as one of the few attorneys with impeccable work ethics. I have recommended Mr. Newman to others. You should as well.

I hired Mr. Newman to with reference to a serious charge concerning a family member. He was highly recommended by several friends and other lawyers as one of the very best criminals attorneys in Philadelphia. He was always available for consultation without billing me for every call and question - and the fee was quite fair. He just about performed a miracle, leading to the best outcome possible, one which was actually beneficial for my family member. He's incredibly familiar with the legal system and able to work closely with the DA's office to ensure a fair outcome. Having never hired criminal legal representation prior to this, I was anxious about the process, but was incredibly pleased to have worked with Mr. Newman who made a difficult situation as comfortable as possible. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I was referred to George by a friend and I'm glad I was! I wasn't facing any great options but George guided me to the best possible solution for me and my family! I had talked to multiple attorneys and found his fee reasonable from the initial free consultation. I can't say enough about the disappointing experience I'm still having with George. I hired him after he was referred to me by Attorney Joseph Mitchell. He was very good at hounding me for money, but lacked everything else. I trusted him just to get to trial and see he was clearly unprepared. The young DA moped the floor with Georges face. Even the judge had to mention something during trial when she said she was waiting for him to object. It was clear he hadn't read the witness testimony and had never reviewed the DAs video evidence as he had no defense. He appeared disheveled and lacked confidence. He did not offer any witnesses and his cross examination of those testifying was extremely lacking. Now going thru sentencing, he's expecting me to do his job for him. Instead of talking with his client (i paid but was not the accused) and coming up with a strategy he's waiting on me to do so. During trial once when I provided suggestion he began yelling at me outside the court. When I asked why he was yelling he mentioned how emotional he gets during trials. This confused the hell out of me. I just spent a year struggling and working my ass off to hopefully pay for a good defense and HE was emotional?????? I can not say enough how disappointed I am with George. I can not recommend him to anyone.

Notice the people who recently gave Newman good ratings have only one rating and its Newman. He is the worst attorney ever in my opinion. After posting my honest opinion of Mr Nueman he sent letters threatening to sue me for defamation. I thought the forum of reviews were to state OPINIONS. I guess attorney's are not subject to this. But much like my Amazon reviews, they are my opiinions . So, he mentions the case facts in his review making sure to say he's not disclosing anything his client said. He's a lawyer...he knows the rules. But in my OPINION, he never reviewed any tapes. He did minimal work until he was fully paid which was too late for him to accurately provide good defense. Of course he should expect payment which he received in Full. In My OPINION, he should not be a person you hire. Anyone can feel free to contact me should they have any questions. Way better lawyers out there. Don't waste your time. I will continue to state my OPINION on this matter and the scare of suing me for defamation of character won't move me at all. Also notice on other sites most of his reviews are by fellow lawyers. And as far as yelling at him, of course I did. You get so "emotional " during your trials. But as an attorney aren't you supposed to be thinking about strategy rather than emotion. Also notice he rated HIMSELF 5 stars. Lol
