Through email, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings, he assured us that our former attorney was not entitled to any money. After providing him with $1000.00 for a case study, he returned confirming his acceptance of our case and reiterated that our ex-attorney had no claim to funds. Consequently, we ceased negotiations on a $25000 settlement with the ex-attorney. Upon receiving the remaining flat fee of $7000.00, Mr. Ney stopped communication. we went to his office he did not show up. Despite assurances of a jury trial and the use of expert witnesses, none materialized – these promises proved false. Furthermore, he neglected to inform us of the hearing date, attending alone, resulting in the case being lost. As a consequence, we had to pay our ex-attorney $65000.00, while we could settle for $25000 if Mr. Ney had not convinced us that we have a winning case to just get the $8000.00. 1
