I got my first OWI. This had me in search of a defense attorney I could afford due to never having been in this situation before. After a few phone calls I had decided that I would hire Roy. His price was the best and to be honest I could not afford much of the attorneys fees I had spoken with. He did see my case all the way through, 4 visits to the Greene county courthouse later and I had my plea agreement accepted by the judge. It would be wrong to say he did not do his job, at minimum, he did just that. One of the first things he said to me over the phone was, "make sure you find someone who will talk to you" and that he did. A lot of. Asking a question only to just to another question in the middle of that response. I will get to the point... This review would not exist if not for the last words that man said to me.. He walked to the exit of the courthouse with me and my wife, at which time he announced with a chuckle that he had bet the bailiff $1 against whether or not I would see jail-time. I had nothing to say in return, I actually let out a chuckle because I thought he was kidding. His reply, "it's just a dollar." No, it was just completely unethical to bet on your clients freedom. Not just a dollar.

I suggested Roy to a close friend of mine because he appeared on the google reviews and he seemed to become more popular over the years in Bloomington, IN. I have also used Roy in a minor case, which was successful, but I did have to help majorly in proving my innocence, and actually the parties had to go to the prosecutor office THEMSELVES in order for my case to be dismissed. He talked over me and made me feel like he never really heard me. I just kept going along because I didn’t have to show in court and was a nervous wreck. Recently, when my friend called he responded as a prosecutor for Monroe County, told her he would not help show the corruption in the case, which is not the focus, but explains her innocence, and suggested only she do what she was hiring a lawyer to help her not have to do, lift warrants, and continue with the court case. He hung up on her. It made me sad to see a defense attorney act as a prosecutor. Anybody with real issues who need real gladiators to fight for them, this will not be your man.

Roy you're AWESOME! With all your help getting my EX- to take care of his obligations and still making that happen. No doubt, you have worked the hardest to stay on top of it all! You're rates are more then fair and honest; THE BEST IN TOWN... Thanks Roy!

I retained Roy to be my attorney involving a Chin's case. Roy gave me a fair price to see me through the entire process. But he's often scatterbrained and has an inability to remember facts details or even names of persons involved in said case. He is very personable and if you leave a message for him he will immediately get back to you. But once it look like I may lose my case he told me it was in my best interest to go with a public defender. And I decided to go with a public defender and won my case. I would only recommend Roy for a custody dispute in regar to a divorce or separation. I put all my trust in him and when things got difficult he pawned me off on the public defender system. But he is a honest man and fair and refunded some of the money I had given him. I would not recommend him to anybody for any type of complexed case

An honest lawyer is a rare & wonderful thing.
