Reached out to James Clifton in regards to code enforcement issues when they were not willing to work with us. I was connected with James within minutes and he was attentive and helpful. To be honest it was my first time having to contact a lawyer and reaching out to him was a shot in the dark. Initially, I was very happy with our closing experience. They were accommodating, friendly, and I appreciated their ability to communicate. However, we were told we would receive our closing packet via email. It took a whole month to receive our packet and I was worried about paying our first mortgage payment. After reaching out several times, I received the packet. I had issues setting up one of my utilities because I didn't have a closing document; I had called and left messages for Apple when this happened and she never communicated back. It took a whole month. After closing, they were no longer worried about completing the rest of the paperwork. There was no sense of urgency. As a first time home buyer, I felt as though they took advantage of my lack of knowledge during the process. It is now my understanding that homebuyers usually receive their closing packet, with their first mortgage coupons, at the time of closing. To me, this information only equates to the reality that I should have received all of this information ASAP, not one month later. Thankfully, I was able to get it figured out and I have learned my lesson. You should either not agree to email dispersion of your legal closing documents or you should request a timeframe for such dispersal.
