Shai Fierst was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He also worked quickly and had geniune concern for my situation.
A year or so ago Stephanie Fink represented my elderly mother in court. My sister picked her because she was ranked a super lawyer. We live out of town and wanted to make sure she was in good hands. In court Mrs. Fink didn't say much or put together a strong argument. We didn’t get the outcome we were looking for. I was confused as to why until recently when I had a long conversation with my mother’s case coordinator and found out that Mrs. Fink didn't actually talk with her and many other people related to the case. I was under the impression she did. We gave her the information. They had key information for our case, which if used in court, would have gotten us a different outcome. To say I am angry and shocked is an understatement. She took our money and did nothing in return. There is nothing super about her.
I have worked with Barry Fierst for 20 years and more recently with Shai Fierst. My sister is a special needs adult who resides in a group home in Maryland and I am an out of state resident. I have relied on Barry and Shai to handle multiple and sometimes complicated issues with a testamentary trust, SSI, medicare and medical care. Barry and Shai are compassionate and professional. Both have not only performed the legal work, but also have been instrumental in helping find resources, such as a private social worker when needed. Their fees are also reasonable for the services provided.
Attorney Fink thinks a mother should always be the main parent in a custody case even if the child is at risk. The attorney has a reputation for sloppy custody work because the results is always the same. The child should always remain with the mother. People don't want to pay her for sloppy work. So she has to petition the court to get paid.
I have used Barry Fierst and his son Shai for more than three years. Although I worked in the disability field for more than thirty years I never dealt with the legal aspects of Special Needs Trusts, disability retirement or Medicaid. Barry and Shai have done a fantastic job dealing with the appropriate agencies regarding these issues very successfully and at a very fair price. I have and continue to recommend both Barry and his son Shai to my friends.
