Ali is an outstanding attorney and has been exceptional in my very complicated case. I would have been in deep trouble without her. I deal with many attorneys in my career and she is without a doubt one if the best. She is very sharp and her focus/analysis/case presentation are superior. I would be remiss if I didn't mention her staff (Kieran, Diane and the rest of the office). They are awesome people! They have made me feel like family. I would first like to thank Alison Weinroth and her team at Smedley Law Group. Alison came highly recommended from a family member, and I had a few top lawyers I spoke to while deciding Alison was by far the best attorney to handle my situation. From the beginning of my divorce, Alison first contacted me immediately and spent just over an hour listening to what I said, and giving me advice along the way. Not only did she listen, she paid attention. As the smallest detail mentioned on day one, she was and is still able to dig into her mental notes and remember some of the smallest details I mentioned today. Her ability to explain, in plain terms, and make me understand from a professional standpoint what was going on, and what was going to happen was amazing. After my first talk with Alison, I knew she was the one. Two other attorneys did not have the ability to make me feel as secure, and in good hands like she did. I knew this situation was going to be emotionally hard and stressful, as I assume most divorces can be intimidating as a male. Not only intimidating, I assumed having a top lawyer in family law wasn’t going to be inexpensive; as it turned out I actually got much more than expected for her professional services, and am beyond grateful. Which I’m sure is pretty common for someone not knowing what was to come. Ironically the situation because of Alison’s intelligence in law from both sides of the court was actually very easy. I can use the word “easy” as there was NEVER a moment Alison wasn’t a phone call/email away to answer ANY question I had; while never pushing me aside waiting for a call back. She was prompt, and so is her team. This made me very comfortable knowing if I needed to know, or have her make note of anything, it was a simple phone call away. As far as the handling of my actual divorce and the courts, Alison’s dominance can not be matched. There was nothing she didn’t have the right answer or resolution for, that was in my best interest. Having Alison in my corner gave me the comfort and confidence to never have to worry I was being pushed or steered the wrong direction. Alison is pure class, and has the swag to make other attorneys feel small. After what I thought was going to be a long, scary financial situation, it was completely opposite. The Smedley team gave me services that couldn’t be matched by the top attorneys in my area, regardless of what I would have had to spend, I didn’t have to keep digging. Hearing horror stories of other unfortunate divorce situations, and their own personal stories, I was handled with care and I would say Alison made my divorce happen for fractions of what I anticipated financially; never once did I feel I was lining someone’s pockets without my best interest always being her priority. The outcome of my divorce got me everything I wanted from keeping things civil with my now ex-wife, what I deserved to walk away from my marriage with, and most importantly, the confidence to move on with my life knowing I was treated fairly with the upmost respect. I truly thank Alison and her team at Smedley Law Group, and would recommend her to anyone going into this situation no one ever anticipates, but happens. I have been a client of Ali's for over 10 years. I came to her when I was just stating the divorce process. She helped and guided me through the very difficult process of navigating the muddy waters. I had young children at the time and a very difficult ex who tried to make everything as hard as possible for me. I can't tell you how much her support and no nonsense approach helped me. I have one last hurdle of college to get thru and I will be done. I can honestly say that thru the years Ali has become my friend. I dont know how many people can say something like that, but I can. Where do I start. I am now 26K in debt. Super simple divorce (no property) with custody that Ali made into a money pit. She kept saying it was a contested divorce but really there was nothing to contest. Absolutely horrible communication. The only time they really communicated was when they wanted more money. We still haven't even gone to court. She had multiple "vacancies" in her staff during the 4 months I used her service. I wonder why? Yes, 26K in 4 MONTHS. I could understand if there was a lot of property or bills and assets to separate or high wage earners married for years but we talking about 2 married less than a year (24 years old) with one working minimum wage. Ali would say "she's asking for alimony, but know she won't get it" so she would call it contested. ALIMONY??? REALLY?? She only said that so she could justify asking for money. And when the crazy mother started keeping the child away from my son, she wrote some long drawn out plea to the court (which cost me over $2000) and did absolutely no good. This after I told her she was wasting her time (and MY MONEY) She would say " if you want to go over any of the charges" How do you contest something you can't prove was done? I should have been forewarned when Rosemary (she's one of the ones that doesn't work there anymore) told me that they had a case that was simple like my son's but the husband and wife were unemployed and they charged them 25K. How do you charge an unemployed client 25K?? Either that was a lie or they truly are very unscrupulous. More than likely both. This firm is typical of the type of firm that give lawyers a bad name. Lastly, her add makes it sound like she cares but when you see the bills you can tell what she really cares about.

We had Ali Smedley represent us in the matter of adopting our former foster daughter. She was extremely thorough and professional throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to help us correct a scheduling issue with the court systems. I would highly recommend Ali Smedley to represent anyone needing an excellent family law attorney!
