I started receiving letters about 5 months after my husband's death requesting estate representative information. I responded and have heard nothing back. Recently received two more letters with different accounts. These are all for hospital bills which the hospital sent directly to the debt collector. They didn't even try to send them to our home. I have tried to reach Wakefield by email, phone and letter. I have never had a response. I want to pay these bills but cannot find a way to do it. Any phone number that actually reaches a live person is not for the "correct department" and they can't help. Getting ready to files letters of complaint to the several States' Attorneys General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
These Wakefield people will not show you documentation for amounts they are trying to collect. In my case, I disputed because I did not create the debt. They couldn't show it was my debt, and agents used anger to bully me. I did get the dispute resolved through the business who falsely reported, but these Wakefield collectors are definitely shady.
My Husband has gotten a collection notice for a bill which he never created. I have disputed online and I am still waiting. As others have said they bully you and will not show you any information on where this bill came from. Horrible company
Send me two bills one for $4.64 the other bill is for $172.00 I call they are telling me that I owe $269.00 how do that add up to $269.00 dollars. Really anyway I went to the company that’s I supposedly have this debt with and was told I don’t have no debt with them and they did not send me to a debt collector so what is really going on
I'm a good person, I do my best to not cause trouble for others who are just doing their job. But I'm honestly debating taking this group to court for the trouble they caused me, based off of the current issues I am having with their entire system. I went to St.Joseph's and a secretary incorrectly filled out my insurance paperwork, when I had VA healthcare that had already paid for the situation I was there for (sutures from a previous VA surgery coming undone). I then recieved ONE letter from Wakefield & Associates 5 months later, informing me of a 5% interest rate price increase? I submitted a dispute through their website, and YEARS have gone by. I thought it was safe to assume the issue was resolved, considering this group hadn't made contact; apparently it wasn't. I noticed a negative impact on my credit scores, which I removed within 3 hours, by submitting all the viable documentation I hold. I'm being charged a hidden made-up, ridiculously high interest rate, by this group, on something that was already paid for, and forged in my name. I am recieving no notices of the charges or any price increases, if any. A simple formula can help show people what they currently owe, yet their website is showing me a stationary number? Blatantly false information is being portrayed on their end. Why is their call center not readily available 24/7? How much do I currently owe (according to them), why do they not have an email set up? Whatever though, I made a payment for the amount listed on their website. If I recieve one more problem or knowingly recieve a hidden price increase on their group's end, I will resolve this through court, assisted by my mountains of viable documentation and lawyers.
