I first contacted Ms. Allen in December of 2014. My claim was filed in March of 2015. I was given her information from a friend that used her as an attorney for their disability case. My friend did receive a favorable decision. My friend and I both thought there was a lack of communication from Ms. Allen. On the day of my hearing in 2018, there were details about my case she did not know and after learning those details she was not confident the decision would be in my favor. I take that means she had not looked at my medical records. During the hearing, the judge said they didn’t have my current medical records. Ms. Allen said she was not able to obtain my records from the county health department I was going to. The judge said she would allow time to submit the records after the hearing, two weeks I believe. I didn’t receive a favorable decision using Ms. Allen’s services. Ms. Allen told me she felt she could not win my case and would NOT file an appeal on my behalf. I had to file the appeal myself and seek another attorney. After getting adequate representation I had another hearing with the same judge in June/July 2020. The Judge said: I could not give you a favorable decision the first time because your previous attorney Ms. Allen did not submit your medical records. (and mentioned she had been given extra time) I got a favorable decision in my disability case using a different attorney. I didn’t receive any funds until late 2021. After receiving the funds a portion was taken out to pay my attorney. The attorney that got my favorable decision was paid but still had the issue of not receiving the remaining funds. I was supposed to have removed Ms. Allen from my disability case when she left me hanging. I wasn’t aware of the process or the need to. I was told Ms. Allen could request funds even if she only made a phone call regarding my case, after explaining all of the above to the office of Congressman David Scott. I wish I had never had Ms. Allen represent me in my disability case. I would not use any service she provided from my experience. As a person, Ms. Allen was nice and I remember we prayed before my hearing. This review reflects her professionalism.
